AFFORDING CHA

Chatsworth Hills Academy supports a strong, diverse student body that values both socio-economic and cultural diversity.  Teaching children to respect and appreciate the beliefs, values and histories of all individuals is as necessary for success in their world as is a solid grounding in science, math, social studies and language.

We understand that the cost of attending an independent school is a significant investment in your child's educational future. Recognizing that every situation is unique, we are committed to working with each family to find ways of making a CHA education affordable. We encourage all families not to let concerns about the cost prevent them from learning more about the extraordinary benefits our students receive from their CHA education.

Financial Assistance Program

CHA offers financial assistance grants to qualified families based on demonstrated need.  Financial need is determined by many factors including household income, assets and debt, standard living expenses, and unusual expenses.  Because every family's financial situations and obligations are different, there is no income cutoff for financial assistance. If you think that you might qualify and if either a small or large reduction would help, you are strongly encouraged to apply. Approximately one-third of current families receive some financial assistance.

To apply for financial assistance, please click the FAST button on the left side of the page to access the online and confidential FAST program.  If you assemble your financial information before you start, the application will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.  You may complete the application in multiple sessions.

All resources available to the students are considered in assessing financial need, however legal decisions regarding tuition are taken into consideration. If you are divorced and the student lives with you and your former spouse has significant financial resources, you may still qualify. If you are remarried, your spouse's income (i.e. your child's stepparent) will also be considered.

If you are self-employed and cannot submit your tax returns by the deadline, you can approximate your taxes and submit to us that information. Any award made will be conditional upon receipt of the returns and subject to reconciliation with the new information provided.

CHA takes into account income from 2010 for awards made for the 2011-2012 academic year. Families receiving financial assistance can expect to continue receiving assistance throughout their enrollment at CHA unless their financial circumstances change.  Changes should be documented in the annual application process. If extenuating circumstances arise mid-year that may dramatically impact your financial need, please contact Nancy Salyers in the Admission Office as soon as possible.

Tuition Discount Program
The Tuition Discount Program is unique from the Financial Assistance Program, and is designed to enhance Chatsworth Hill Academy's ability to reach out to families who may not qualify for Financial Assistance.

This program provides eligible families tuition discounts of up to $2,000 per student for families that would otherwise find it difficult to send their child(ren) to CHA.

To learn more about the Tuition Discount Program, please click HERE for additional information, submission timeline, and brief one-page application.
